Getting to know Billy was an ordeal for me. I had never encountered someone so belligerent, underhanded and mean. His eyes would narrow in disgust every time we met, and frequently I caught him sticking out his tongue behind my back. Billy was the most antagonistic duck I had ever met. Our tortured relationship began last summer, when I was working for my neighbor Charlie in his sustenance garden.
