Harvard University Supplemental Essay Option: Books Read During the Last Twelve Months. Reading Frankenstein in ninth grade changed my relationship to classic literature. In Frankenstein, I found characters and issues that resonate in a modern context, and I began to explore the literary canon outside of the classroom.
