Kairos. Seated at the top of a hill, overlooking a valley of plantations, set an old white house, with paint that was ever so slightly starting to chip. We walked up the steep staircase to enter the front door and were greeted with the smell of old wood and books; a smell that I would eventually come to miss. For four nights, my peers and I would live in this house for our Kairos retreat. Kairos is a retreat for juniors and seniors at my school, Loyola Blakefield.
